Discover Fun Kids Gym Programs In Ambler PA

By Carlene Eriksson

The classes for the youngest children are generally not too structured. If a toddler in a parent child class is wandering around the gymnasium, it is acceptable as long as the parent stays right by his side. There are too many pieces of equipment in the gym that are tempting to climb or play on. The youngest tot will find a fun experience at an Ambler PA Kids Gym.

The thought is that eventually your child will show interest in what the main group is doing. He then must be guided into waiting his turn on the equipment, walking on the four-inch wide balance beam for instance. Of course, for the little ones it is at floor level. It is still necessary to remain close to your child. Sometimes two children will do a trick too close to each other. A collision is always a possibility.

It is the primary concern of the staff to keep children of all ages safe. They are not left alone in the gym. As they do somersaults and cartwheels they do them on padded floor mats to prevent bruises. The older kids are spotted by an instructor when doing routines on the elevated balance beam or the parallel bars.

Some of the children are in awe of the gymnasium at first. It is such a large space that it can be intimidating. They can be guided around to look at all the apparatus. As they become familiar with it, they will begin to enjoy being there.

Youngsters' confidence builds with each new skill they learn. Gymnastics is not only fun but instills an appreciation for exercise that may last through a child's entire life. Parents are proud of their children and praise them for their progress.

There may be danger of an older student colliding with the apparatus or another student. Sprained wrists and ankles are not uncommon and are beyond prevention. Blisters cannot be avoided for the girls working on the uneven parallel bars. Feet can be sore from walking on the balance beam. All injuries, even minor ones, are prevented if at all possible.
